We are launching TeamMates Mentoring program at Wakefield School! TeamMates mentors meet with a student for 30 minutes each week during the school year. All meetings take place at school. Mentors play games, eat lunch, or just talk with their mentee. Mentoring is a great way to make a difference in our community! The Hangar - December 2024 Edition

3rd graders celebrated their win in the Math-Off competition against the 6th graders with breakfast pizza and hot chocolate!

Today, Mrs. Crabtree introduced topic sentences when writing informative pieces to her 6th graders. This came following the introduction and conclusion that they had written earlier.

Mrs. Bybee's 8th graders have been exploring writing linear equations this week. There is lots of trial and error that goes into math equations, and these students are learning firsthand!

Mrs. Simon's 2nd grade class has a "centers time" each day, where students pick out an activity from a weekly To-Do list. They get to choose what they work on each day as long as everything gets completed. This week they were working on contractions and proper vs. common nouns.

This morning, a vehicle transporting USD 379 students on a college visit was in an accident. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported. Parents have been contacted, and plans are in place to bring everyone home safely.
