Wakefield's NHS traveled to Topeka to volunteer at Harvesters. We packed onions before we ate lunch and finished the day with ice cream at Call Hall. The NHS members that participated were Haylie Avery, Ashley Pollman, Jada Clark and Erin Flickinger.
The Wakefield freshman traveled through a blizzard to visit North Central Kansas Tech School in Beloit. They got introduced to several programs available at the school.
Wakefield's NHS students worked Sunday morning picking up trash for the Adopt-A-Highway along highway 82. NHS members are Noah Freeman,Haylie Avery,Jada Clark,Erin Flickinger, Ashley Pollman, Tyler Chappell.
Wakefield's sophomores traveled to Concordia for Cloud County Community College's Sophomore Days. Each student got to choose 3 sessions of interest plus a campus tour. Thank you CCCC for the invite.
NHS is sponsoring an American Red Cross blood drive on Tues. Sept. 21 from 12 - 6pm. It will be held in the school Library. Masks must be worn. Please call the HS office to make an appointment. 785.461.5437
Congratulations to Wakefield senior, Nevaeh Copenhaver, for being named a 2021 Governor's Scholar recipient. This award recognizes and honors the top academic one percent of Kansas high school seniors from accredited public and private schools in the state.

Purple Up! For Military Kids: Wearing the color purple is a visible way to show support and thank military youth for their strength and sacrifices. So, Wed, April 21, we would like your child to wear PURPLE to show our support for our military kids that go to Wakefield School.

The Clay Counts Coalition is hosting the community at the Rex Theater on Thursday, March 25th at 6:30pm. During this time we will watch the short film, "If They Had Known" and host a panel discussion to talk about the laws, safety procedures, signs of distress, community culture, and answer questions from community members.
