Today, we’re thrilled to highlight our Encore Teachers in the Bengal Spotlight Featured Department! We are fortunate to have an incredible team of educators who inspire our students through lessons in cooking, sewing, healthy eating, fitness, typing, woodworking, and other essential life skills that empower them to become successful adults. Let’s take a closer look at these dedicated individuals. Marsha Argo boasts over 30 years of experience in education, having taught at Lincoln, Longford, Wakefield, Garfield, and CCCMS. Originally from Clay Center, where much of her family still resides, Marsha is married and has two sons. A passionate K-State fan, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, along with her hobbies of traveling, drawing, and cooking. Emilie Roe has been part of the CCCMS team for the past two years. As the Physical Education teacher and assistant coach for both 8th-grade volleyball and 7th-grade basketball, she also serves as the head coach for Girls track. Originally from Herington, Kansas, Emilie attended Fort Hays State University and has called Clay Center home ever since. She’s set to get married this summer, and when she isn't planning her wedding or teaching, she enjoys walks, crocheting, and spending time with her two cats. Brad Conner, who hails from the sandhills of Nebraska, began his teaching career in Clay Center. With over 30 years of experience, he has taught subjects such as Drafting, CAD, architecture, and woodworking. Additionally, he has coached high school basketball, tennis, middle school volleyball, wrestling, and track. Brad is married and has two daughters, and he enjoys working in the shop, spending time with family, and watching sports. Brandon Pfizenmaier, a lifelong Clay County resident and a graduate of the local high school, furthered his education at the University of Nebraska Kearney, where he wrestled and earned his Bachelor's degree in Construction Management. After returning to Clay County, he married and has four wonderful children. Brandon has been teaching Construction Technology for five years, where he has the unique opportunity to guide students in building a house. We would also like to extend our appreciation to Garrett Craig, Ian Lane, and Traci McDonald. Thank you all for the tremendous impact you have on our students!

🌟✨ Shoutout to our "Like a Champion" Call of the Day: Ashlynn Hovland! 🎉👏 Ashlynn has been an absolute rockstar in Art Class, lending her support to an ELL student. Without anyone asking her, she stepped up to listen to instructions and guide her classmate through the process. Mrs. Argo is beyond grateful for Ashlynn's kindness and dedication! We’re so fortunate to have such a caring and enthusiastic student at CCCMS. Keep shining and embodying those seven habits, Ashlynn! 💖🙌 #LikeAChampion #StudentSpotlight #CCCMS

This week, we are thrilled to present the "Like a Champion" Pillar of Leadership award to Mr. Brandon Pigorsch! Mr. Pigorsch embodies the essence of all seven leadership habits, but one shines particularly bright: Habit 5 — Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood. He places a tremendous emphasis on truly hearing others, valuing their perspectives, and respecting their emotions. His patience is unmatched, far surpassing that of most of us here at CCCMS. The way he remains composed in even the most stressful situations is nothing short of remarkable. Brandon consistently creates a space where people feel heard, celebrated, and encouraged to embrace their true selves. If only we had more individuals like him in the world, it would undoubtedly be a much better place. We are truly lucky to have him as part of our community.

6th graders in Mr. Walsh's science classes completed two modeling labs for their Weather Unit. They demonstrated how icebergs react to cool and warm ocean currents. The second lab demonstrated how freshwater and saltwater mix. These labs help the students better understand how ocean currents affect climate.

Today’s "Like a Champion" Call of the Day spotlights Dianna Haines! She is being recognized by Mr. Sleichter for her amazing act of kindness. Dianna paused her own work to assist fellow students with their IXL math lessons. Without being asked, she helped them grasp the concepts, and in the process, she also deepened her own understanding of the material. Mr. Sleichter believes that’s a true Win-Win situation! An interesting fact about Dianna is that she loves to draw! The image shared is her favorite piece of artwork. Great job, Dianna!!!
