We are thrilled to announce that this week’s "Like a Champion" Pillar of Leadership award goes to Mrs. Alisha Brownell! Alisha is an exceptional and well-rounded educator who truly puts her students first. She seamlessly integrates her passions into the classroom and goes above and beyond to support all her students, not just those assigned to her. We are so fortunate to have her as a Bengal!

✨ As we wrap up the Winter Sports season, we just have to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible cheerleaders and their amazing coach, Jenna Beaver! 🙌 Your energy and support have truly kept us all pumped and motivated throughout every game. Thank you for being the heartbeat of our teams! 💖🏆 #LikeAChampion #Grateful #TeamSpirit #WinterSports

🌟✨ This week, we’re shining the Bengal Spotlight on Mr. Taylor's PAWS! 🐾 They meet daily from 8:10-8:30 AM and know how to kick off the day with a bang! ⚽️💥 Whether they're enjoying the great outdoors or diving into some fun PAWS challenges like dodgeball, this crew is all about keeping active! 🎉 When they're not in the midst of the action, you can find them bonding over Uno or other classic card games. ♠️♥️ It’s not all fun and games, though! They also take time to catch up on grades and work on assignments together. 📚✨ What a fantastic way to make the most of their mornings! Keep up the amazing work, Mr. Taylor's PAWS! 💪❤️ #LikeAChampion #BengalSpotlight #PAWSFun

7th grade band was in full gear today! After warm-ups, Mr. Eyermann introduced riffing, which is a repeated sequence of notes or chords in a song. He had volunteers come up and make up a strand of notes and beats that they then turned into a song. Pretty cool to see these young musicians taking shape in a unique way!

Art at CCCMS is an elective class that 6th, 7th, and 8th graders can take each semester. Today, Mrs. Argo had her 7th graders learning about contour lines (lines that define the outline of an object) by drawing their own shoes.

Social Studies teacher Mr. Lane has always found unique ways to teach his students about government and history. Today, his 8th graders were either creating infographic posters about historical events of their choice, reviewing for an upcoming test using Kahoot!, or writing a Primary Source Activity based on a source they found.
Last week, Mr. Lane held a "Greatest Invention in American History" debate tournament. Teams debated each other in a tournament format to select a winner from each hour.
There is great stuff going on in Mr. Lane's classroom!

UPDATE: CCCMS has withdrawn from the Hanover Scholars Bowl Met today due to the dangerously low temperatures and the potential for bus fuel gelling. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
🌟 Wishing our amazing Scholars Bowl team the best of luck today! They’re off to Hanover for another exciting tournament starting at 5:00 PM (it should last about an hour). Families, we’d love to have you come cheer for our team! Just a reminder: if you plan to take your student home afterwards, please sign them out with a coach. ✨ Mark your calendars for Tuesday, February 25th! We’re thrilled to host our very own Scholars Bowl tournament in Clay Center at 5:00 PM. Let’s show our Bengal pride and support our scholars! 📢 Oh, and a quick update: today’s Boys Basketball game against Concordia is unfortunately canceled. Stay tuned for further updates! 🏀❤️ #LikeAChampion #ScholarsBowl #BengalPride

We're excited to announce this week's recipient of the "Like A Champion" Pillar of Leadership award: Ashley Snyder! Ashley exemplifies all seven habits of leadership. She consistently delivers outstanding work and fosters strong student and staff relationships. Her positive attitude and ability to manage the school with kindness and respect truly stand out. Even in challenging situations, she maintains a smile and navigates frustrations gracefully. Ashley readily embraces challenges and does a great job helping other people with their own jobs. We are truly grateful to have her on our team!

We want to personally invite 8th grade students and parents to attend our High School Information Night, which will be held at CCCHS on Thursday, February 27th at 6 p.m. in the CCCHS Auditorium. We will be discussing all information related to transitioning to CCCHS next fall.

The USD 379 County Spelling Bee was held today at CCCHS. After working their way through their building spelling bee competitions earlier in the year, 4th through 8th graders from around the district competed to earn the title of Spelling Bee champion.
In the end, it was a Sister Spell Off! Kate Larson finished first, with her sister Rosie finishing as the alternate. Kate will now move on to the Sunflower State Spelling Bee, which will be held on March 22 in Salina.
Congratulations to winners and all of the contestants. Standing up in front of an audience takes some guts!

Reminder No School tomorrow Friday, February 14th.
