One of the first grade math state standards is to learn the hour and half hour settings on an analog clock. Mrs. Graham's class was starting that process today! #celebrate379

Wednesday, April 2nd announcement- due to flooding in the southern part of the county, country bus routes in those areas will be delayed. All students on those bus routes will not be counted as tardy for their arrival, they will be excused.

All USD 379 schools, including Lincoln 3rd graders, are in the middle of state assessments. State assessments aren’t just tests—they’re tools that help us better support your child’s learning journey. Here's why they matter:
✅ Measure Growth: They show how much your child has learned and grown over the year.
✅ Support Success: The results help teachers tailor instruction to meet student needs.
✅ Inform Decisions: Data from assessments guide district decisions on resources and curriculum.
✅ Statewide Comparison: They help us see how our students are doing compared to others across Kansas.
We’re proud of our students and teachers, and these assessments help us celebrate their progress and identify where we can grow even stronger—together. For LES 3rd graders, the goal is also to get them used to the format of the tests and to reduce anxiety the first time they take them.
Thanks for partnering with us in helping every student succeed! 💙📈 #celebrate379

Classes across the district are taking advantage of the warmer weather to finally get outside! Mrs. Bruggeman's students were working on gross motor spelling and writing activities. #celebrate379

Read Across America continues to bring in special guests to read to students. Yesterday, Blaine Pfizenmaier, Mr. Walling, and Mrs. Combs read to all 4 kindergarten classes. They especially enjoyed hearing Blaine tell jokes using his DynaVox! #celebrate379

March is Youth Art Month, and Mrs. McGuire is excited to share that Amelia has been chosen to be one of the Youth Art Month Featured Artists, which means they posted her art on the Kansas Art Educators Association Facebook page! #celebrate379

Mrs. Peterson's third graders finished up learning about fractions by playing Fraction Basketball with a partner. Each group shot a certain number of shots, made a fraction out of the baskets they made, and compared them with their partner. #celebrate379

Mrs. Payne’s class often combines large motor movements with spelling games. Last week, her class competed in relay races to practice spelling words, and today they completed various movements to the board such as hopping on one foot, crab walking, and slithering like a snake to race to spell their words. #celebrate379

The reading curriculum in USD 379 elementary classrooms focuses heavily not just on fluency but also on comprehension. If you don't know what you are reading, it won't become a lifelong skill! Today, Mr. Bent's third graders were answering comprehension questions about a farming story in their IntoReading textbook. #celebrate379

Read Across America is in full force in kindergarten classrooms! Guest readers are coming in during the month of March to each room. For each book read, Mrs. Shannon's class is coloring a state. Their goal is to get all 50 states colored by Spring Break! #celebrate379

It's racing time in Mr. Smith's second grade P.E. class!

Mrs. Lange had a unique science experiment with her first graders this morning. They asked, "Why do the stars come out at night?" Using cups and flashlights in a dark room, they learned that stars are actually out all the time, but with the sun or city lights, we can't see them. They even made their own stargazer of the Big Dipper!
