WOW is the first word that comes to mind after hearing Kevin Olson deliver his strong words of wisdom today to our Bengal students! His message was so important for our students to hear! We hope each of them walked away today with a different perspective on difficult things in their life they can not change or control. Please ask your student tonight about the messages of hope and strength that Kevin shared with them today. Below is his website with more information: https://www.learningtolivewithit.com/ Thank you so much, Kevin!

Today's Bengal Spotlight Featured PAWS is Mrs. Argo's class. Mrs. Argo's PAWS Class is a very diverse bunch with many different interests. They enjoy playing games like Silent Ball and Pictionary, but also like a good Dodgeball challenge. They are usually up for an all-school PAWS Challenge but are frustrated with getting 2nd place on a number of occasions. They finally achieved 1st Place status in the door decorating contest this past December! Woohoo! They understand that perseverance pays off.

Today's Bengal Way Call of the Day is Lilly Edwards! During PE, Lilly was shooting baskets with a student, and she was helping him with trying to make baskets on his own. When he did make a basket, she cheered him on and then they did their moonwalk. She is such a sweet soul!

At CCCMS we feel very fortunate to have Mr. Brummet as our School Counselor, and we are excited to celebrate School Counseling Week to recognize everything he does for the students and staff at CCCMS. Mr. Brummet meets with every student at CCCMS each week, providing a relevant, counseling lesson, which may relate to social-emotional learning, post-high school career, and college opportunities, or self-regulation. In addition, Mr. Brummet serves as our CCCMS Student Council sponsor and also advises a number of student groups, which are community-service based. Thanks again to Mr. Brummet for making CCCMS a great place for kids! Below is a little bit of what makes Brummet Brummet! Mr. Brummet has worked for USD 379 for 10 years. He spent four years at Garfield Elementary as a teacher and counselor before coming to CCCMS. He enjoys working with all students, staff, and families to support, educate, and encourage students to take care of their mental and emotional health, be kind human beings, and be good students, while also thinking about their future educational and career plans. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his niece and nephews, supporting his sisters and their activities, traveling, exercising, continuing his education, and enjoying the outdoors. Mr. Brummet is an avid advocate for school counseling. He has been the president of the Kansas Counseling Association and is currently a board member of the Kansas School Counseling Association. He enjoys working to provide professional development opportunities for school counselors and is excited to join the Kansas State Department of Education’s “Dream Team” of counselors who will provide professional learning opportunities to school counselors this summer. Mr. Brummet is currently completing his building leadership degree this spring and plans to be a school principal in the future. He is grateful for the opportunity to build relationships with many in our school and community.
