Nothing is better than Pajamas and a comfy couch-just ask Mrs. Fickes's PAWS class! They are this week's Bengal Spotlight Featured PAWS! They are a fantastic group of students. They enjoy playing silent ball, musical chairs, holding elections, and going to the gym. We are very competitive during challenges. We are excited to have an awesome group of 6th graders that joined our crew this year!

8th grade art students participated in “Halloween Wars” where they worked in teams to create a Halloween scene based on a certain theme. They also had to write a backstory to explain the scene. Each team showed a lot of creativity in their designs and stories! Winners, Isabel and Evie, won a Jack-o-Lantern pizza and drinks for lunch. 2nd place, Aiden and Brookelynn, won drinks of their choice.

This week's Bengal Spotlight Featured Department is our Math Department. We are extremely lucky to have three of the best Math Pros in the business! Below is just a glimpse at what makes them who they are! Read on while they cruise off into the sunset... Megan Griffiths is starting her first year back teaching after staying at home with her kids and raising them. She subbed last year in the school district. She is starting her third year coaching middle school volleyball. She also helps coach other sports including softball and basketball. She has 5 children who range in grades from 1st to 7th grade. Courtney Pfizenmaier is in her 6th year at CCCMS after 15 years of previous experience as an elementary teacher, elementary administrator, and STEM Coach in Geary County USD 475. She lives on a farm in southwest Clay County with her husband, four kids, cows, two dogs, and lots of farm cats. Courtney enjoys watching her kiddos extracurricular activities, reading, landscaping, and drinking Dr. Pepper. Jay Sleichter is starting his 16th year teaching in USD 379. For the previous 15 years, he has been teaching, 6, 7, and 8th math and science, 9th Natural Resources, Elementary Intervention, 2nd-grade math, and K, 1, and 2 computer skills at Wakefield. He also taught for 5 years in Manhattan. Jay and his wife Linda live on a small farm north of Clay Center and have 5 kids. 2 in college/graduate school, 2 in high school, and 1 at Garfield. When Jay isn’t at school, he is busy growing produce and selling at Farmer's Markets, and raising show pigs. Fun fact, Jay’s family sells their show pigs in a sale that his Dad started 57 years ago. Jay enjoys working with Planet Jr, walking behind tractors, watching his kids participate in sports and 4-H events, and watching K-State football games.
